Written by Coach “C,” a professional educator who has been a high school and college football coach for 25 years. As an educator, he serves in the role of Dean of Behavioral Management. Coach holds a bachelor degree in History and a masters in Educational Leadership. He has previously served as a curriculum coordinator, and spent six years as a Director of Athletics. Along with being a high school head football coach for 14 years, Coach was an assistant at four different “small college” football programs.
Dr. Joseph Bellapianta
Dr. Bellapianta received his BA in Biology from Franklin & Marshall College and his MS in Biology from Farleigh Dickinson University. Completing his medical degree and orthopaedic residency at New York’s Albany Medical College, he graduated Cum Laude as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Following his residency, Dr. Bellapianta pursued a sports medicine fellowship at The Andrews Institute in Gulf Breeze, FL, where he worked alongside world-renowned orthopaedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews. Gaining experience in all aspects of non-operative and operative musculoskeletal patient care, he helped Dr. Andrews treat players from the New York Yankees, Mets, Giants, Rangers, and many other U.S. sports organizations. Throughout the course of his career, he has also been a team physician for Auburn University football and athletics, West Florida College athletics, Flomaton, AL high school athletics, Manhattanville College athletics, and Long Island Lizards professional lacrosse.
Dr. Bellapianta specializes in non-invasive and traditional surgical treatment of the hip, knee, ankle, shoulder, elbow, and wrist, as well as joint replacement surgery, fracture care, and general orthopaedic treatment. A board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, he is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, and a recipient of the Victor & Ethel Cermak Tompkins Alumni Scholarship for academic excellence. Dr. Bellapianta is well-published in many reputable, peer-reviewed journals, and has presented his research in national and international professional settings.
